Melt to Bar: Inside AFCO's Fully Integrated, Digitised Facility
By AFCO Steel

AFCO Steel operates as a fully integrated producer — melting its own steel, casting its own billets, and rolling them on an automated, digitised line, all under one roof in Lahore. Nothing is outsourced.
Why integration matters
A re-roller inherits whatever chemistry arrives on the truck. An integrated producer controls it from the first melt. Because AFCO makes its own steel, there is no gap in the chain where quality control gets handed to someone else.
The chain, end to end
- Melting — four modern furnaces melt carefully selected raw materials, with a Spectromaxx spectrometer reading chemical composition instantly during the melt, so chemistry is corrected while the metal is still liquid.
- Billet casting — the billets that enter the rolling line are billets we cast ourselves.
- Automated rolling — a digitised rolling line delivers tight geometry and a consistent rib pattern, repeatable heat after heat.
- Cooling & finishing — controlled cooling across the bed, then cutting, tensile and bend testing, and continuous dimensional checks.
Every bar remains traceable to the heat it was melted in — the traceability that engineers and consultants specify around.
Built for scale
The facility carries 250,000 tonnes of annual melting and rolling capacity, producing the full Grade 40–80 range, including Pakistan's only ASTM A706 Grade 80.
It is this integration — modern melting, in-house billets, digital rolling — that lets AFCO hold one standard from raw material to the bar on your site.
